Our Beliefs
Mission
The Mission of the CT District is to fulfill the Mission of the New Testament Church. That is, "...Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature."
Vision
The Vision of the CT District is to establish and maintain as many churches as possible. We will use every avenue we have at our disposal and, through each of our departments, we will endeavor to minister to the needs of all people and promote revival throughout all of Connecticut.
The Bible
The Bible is the inspired and infallible Word of God. It is the sole authority for faith, doctrine, and instruction in Christian living.
God
God is absolutely one, with no distinction of persons. "Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD." (Deuteronomy 6:4). (See also Isaiah 44:8; 45:5-6, 21-23; 46:9; Romans 3:30; Galatians 3:20; James 2:19).
We teach that the one God who revealed Himself in the Old Testament as Jehovah revealed Himself in His Son, Jesus Christ. Thus, Jesus Christ was and is God. In other words, Jesus is the one true God manifested in flesh, for in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily (John 1:1-14; I Timothy 3:16; Colossians 2:9).
While fully God, Jesus was also fully man, possessing a full and true humanity. He was both God and man. Moreover, the Holy Spirit is God with us and in us. Thus, God is manifested as Father in creation and as the Father of the Son, in the Son for our redemption, and as the Holy Spirit in our regeneration.
Salvation
We believe that salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, not by works. Faith in Jesus is the means by which a person is justified. At the same time, a sinner must believe the gospel; he is commanded to repent of his sinful life, to be baptized in water in the name of Jesus Christ, and to receive the gift of the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:38; 4:12; 8:12-17; 10:43-48; 19:1-6).
Holiness
We believe that the Christian must live a life of holiness, both inward and outward including conduct and dress.
Worship - Biblical Expressions
We pray together aloud because in the Bible we read, "They lifted up their voice to God with one accord" (Acts 4:24).
We lift our hands in praise because in the Bible we read, "Lift up your hands in the sanctuary, and bless the Lord" (Psalm 134:2).
We sing with all our hearts because in the Bible we read, "Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all the earth: make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise" (Psalm 98:4).
We play musical instruments because in the Bible we read, "And all the house of Israel played before the Lord on all manner of instruments" (2 Samuel 6:5).
We clap and shout unto God because in the Bible we read, "O clap your hands, all ye people; shout unto God with the voice of triumph" (Psalm 47:1).
We dance before the Lord because in the Bible we read, "Praise Him with the timbrel and dance: praise Him with stringed instruments and organs" (Psalm 150:4).
We testify publicly because in the Bible we read, "I will declare thy name unto my brethren; in the midst of the congregation will I praise thee" (Psalm 22:22).
We anoint with oil for divine healing because in the Bible we read, "Is any sick among you? Let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord" (James 5:14).
We allow the operation of the spiritual gifts because in the Bible we read, "When ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation" (1 Corinthians).

Rev. William V. Thompson
Honorary Presbyter
Rev. Frederick L. Dibble Sr.
Born Dec. 28, 1930 into a wonderful Christian family. They needed to be for I was born without eyes. My Dad was a man of faith and a powerful man of prayer. Although never a minister of the gospel he was mightily used of God in the church. One night after a prayer meeting at our home had concluded God performed His first miracle in my life. He planted two beautiful green eyes exactly where they needed to be. The first of many miracles! At four years old, Mom and Dad divorced and Dad took us to a Baptist church. At fifteen years old I left home to find out what life had in store for me. Not very long after that I enlisted in the service. Completing Basic training I was shipped overseas where I stayed several years until finally coming back home in 1952.
This is where my life really began to change into something good. On Feb. 28, 1953 I was baptized in Jesus name and on August 18, 1953 I received the Holy Ghost. On Sept. 11, 1954 I married our Pastor’s most beautiful daughter. This was followed with one daughter and three sons.
I had been aware of a calling of God to the ministry and in 1956 I received my Local License into the United Pentecostal Church. After a period of time I became the assistant Pastor of Christ Temple in Buffalo, New York.
My family and I moved to Manchester Connecticut in 1970 where I became the assistant Pastor. In 1975 we moved to Waterbury to assume the Pastorate of Calvary Apostolic Church. In 1998 we resigned this position turning the Pastorate over to my son Thomas. During our ministry within the UPC we have held several District offices. They were Youth Secretary, Sunday School Secretary, Sunday School Director, District Secretary/Treasurer and District Presbyter.
God has blessed our family and we have been blessed to have been involved in so many areas of ministry, but our greatest blessing is in being a part of the family of God.
